is pemtel internet fiber?
Portions of the service area(s) already enjoy the benefits of fiber optic broadband. We are working diligently to bring fiber to the rest of our area(s). When an area is ready, subscribers will be contacted either via telephone, email or postcard to arrange a time for installation. There is NO ADDED COST to subscribers for fiber. Monthly fees are based on the selected speed plan.
how much data can i use?
All PemTel internet plans included UNLIMITED DATA and NO DATA CAPS!
Is there an Installation Fee?
Yes, in addition to the monthly fee, there is an Installation fee for the service. Our Customer Service Representatives will explain any fees and options when you request service. Call our office at (540) 626-7111 for complete details.
DO I HAVE TO SIGN An agreement?
Yes, there is an agreement that must be signed. This agreement states that there will be a termination fee of $25.00 should the service be cancelled before the end of a six month period. It also states that you agree to return any company owned equipment with all cords and accessories in good, working condition should you terminate service. And it states that you are in agreement with the Terms of Use/Rules & Regulations and the Acceptable Use Policy.
Is there equipment to purchase?
Plans that are 25/3 or higher enjoy the benefits of our Equipment Use Program. This program provides the necessary equipment at no cost to the subscriber. We ask that you sign an Equipment Use Agreement. Plans that are below 25/3 will require either a standard modem or router. Prices for this equipment vary based on the needs of the subscriber. Fiber services require a different type of equipment which is furnished at no cost to the subscriber regardless of the speed plan chosen. An Equipment Use Agreement is required.
HOW MUCH SPEED DO I NEED?
Is telephone service required to have Internet?
Broadband service is available with or without telephone service. The pricing shown below as Internet Only represents Broadband Service with no telephone service. Subscribers can save $10.00 off of the monthly rate for Broadband service when also subscribing to telephone service. Telephone service with no features or long distance runs approximately $35.00 per month. Please contact our office if you have any questions regarding this.
Why are Business rates higher than residential?
Business Broadband plans are rated higher than Residential Broadband plans due to the fact that businesses use a higher volume of data. Business plans receive priority repair service in the event of a wide-spread outage. All plans include unlimited data use and 24/7 standard technical support via toll free number or online chat service.
What if I have a problem or question?
PemTel Internet subscribers are encouraged to take advantage of our 24/7 Technical Support team. They are highly trained, specialized technicians who are there to help you with whatever your trouble may be. If they are unable to help they will submit an escalated ticket to our office where it will be received the following business day. Speeds not guaranteed. Not all speeds are available in all areas. Speed plans with max download above 25 or max upload above 3 require fiber which is not available in all areas. $25.00 termination fee applies to individual services cancelled before the end of the six month term. Services subscribed to as part of a Make Your Own Bundle may incur an additional termination fee. $25.00 suspension fee applies to services held on temporary disconnect.
